The ESA C Commissioner has stated that banning kids from social media is not the solution to reducing their exposure to harmful and misogynistic content online. The federal government is exploring systems to ban kids from social media while state leaders plan a summit to discuss options. However, Commissioner Julian Mgrant believes that regulation alone is not the answer, and prevention, protection and proactive systemic change need to be prioritised.
